With the use of space mutation technique, Prof.Chen selected a new rice variety “HuahangⅠ”with high yield, good quality and disease resistance. Being approved through the Guangong and national variety examination and approval committee in 2001 and 2003 respectively.
Selected a high quality and yeild new varity“Pei Za Tai Feng”, being approved through the Guangong and national variety examination and approval committee in 2004 and 2005 and recognized as the first batch of super rice varieties by the Ministry of Agriculture.
In recent years, Prof.Chen has selected several new varities which has high quality and yeild like “Pei Za Hang Qi” , “Pei Za 88”, “Pei Za Hang Xiang” , “Pei Za 130” and several varities that is resistant like “Huahang Simiao” , “Shengba Simiao”, “Jinhang Simiao”, “Hongli Simiao”. Those varities are extensively applicated and extended.
He created a number of Space mutagenesis and obtained four varity rights.
